I hate being at home because i am getting yelled at constantly about something that nobody is helping me with(I have no idea how to get a loan, and never had a credit card etc.) PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Also, the one scholarship website i was using fastwebs is good, but are there any more?

First of all, please don't think about NOT going to college. College is not only a rewarding opportunity to get the job of your dreams, but it's also the best time of your young life! Don't let financial difficulties get in the way of your education.

Here's some advice from a recent college graduate:

You should try and get a federal student loan. Here are the steps you need to take:

1) Fill out the FAFSA. This will determine if you are eligible for financial aid. Go here:

http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

2) Once you are eligible for aid, choose a government-based student loan. The best loan to get is a Federal Perkins Loan. These have low interest rates and the government will help you pay it back as long as you stay enrolled in school. You also don't need a cosigner or good credit for it. For more info go here:

3) The next best loan to get is a Subsidized Stafford Loan. This has many of the same benefits as a Perkins Loan. Learn more here:

http://www.studentfinancedomain.com/stud...

4) You can also try to get a grant or scholarship, which is free money that you won't have to pay back. Look here:

Also, it doesn't hurt to establish your credit early with a student credit card. You should not use it to pay for tuition or anything huge, but you can get a student credit card, make small purchases, and always make your payments on time. But only if you can be responsible with you. You can learn more here:

Here's a good site to compare different student credit cards:

Remember, only get a credit card if you know you can make the payments, and don't go crazy with it or you'll get into lots of debt and might have to declare bankruptcy.

Don't let your family members get you down about paying for college. My mom couldn't help me, so my entire 4 years were paid for with student loans. It's possible to do on your own, so stay positive!

Good luck!

Since you don't have credit you will have to have a cosigner even if you are eighteen. The best thing to do would be to check the website of whatever college has accepted you and see what they offer in financial aid including work scholarships, and if you haven't checked ascrive.com that may help too.

There is one thing nobody has mentioned. Your mother's income can not count past one year. Normally, it is required to add your parents income, but only for the last year. Re-submit the Fafsa application, and list your father as custodian, omit your mother's income. I don't know who thought of listing it, but it's wrong. Also, go to the scholarship website, but whatever you do, try for college, it will benefit you later. Also, if your brother is in school that helps, too (if in college). I hope you filled out the Fafsa yourself. And if nothing else, take your father up on his offer, but ask him to give it to you in the first year. That way you can possibly get the grants the following year, and maybe even get a student credit card to start with.
